Ellie Anderson produced a career-best List A performance with the ball before Charlie Dean and Niamh Holland guided Somerset to a three-wicket victory over Durham at the Cooper Associates Ground in the Metro Bank One Day Cup. The result strengthened Somerset's hopes of reaching the knockout stages, with Anderson's outstanding spell helping restrict Durham to 248 for 9 before the hosts completed the chase with 5.2 overs to spare. Anderson returned impressive figures of 5 for 40, including three early wickets, while Lola Harris claimed 2 for 53. Emma Marlow top-scored for Durham with 71, supported by Eleanor Larosa's aggressive 44 and Grace Thompson's 41. Anderson makes early impact After Somerset won the toss, Anderson immediately put Durham under pressure. The former England Under-19 seamer removed Mia Rogers, Hollie Armitage and Mady Villiers during a devastating opening spell of 3 for 25. Durham slipped to 95 for 5, but Marlow and Thompson helped turn the innings around. Marlow was given a reprieve when Holland dropped a difficult chance at square leg on 27, while Thompson survived a close run-out decision. The pair took full advantage, adopting an attacking approach to build Durham's total. Their partnership pushed the visitors to 163 before Harris finally dismissed Marlow, who holed out to long-off. Larosa then launched a counterattack, smashing six fours and a six during a rapid 44 from 31 balls. She added 51 with Thompson in just 6.2 overs before Anderson returned to dismiss her, with the batter chopping onto her stumps. Sophie Luff subsequently ran out Thompson for 41, before Anderson completed her five-wicket haul by bowling Katherine Fraser. It was Somerset's first List A five-wicket haul since Nicole Harvey took 5 for 22 against Surrey in 2017. Dean and Holland take control Somerset's chase initially suffered a few setbacks. Luff fell to Larosa and Bex Odgers was dismissed by Lauren Filer before Katie Levick bowled Emma Corney for 22. Villiers then had Dani Gibson caught at extra cover, leaving Somerset struggling at 84 for 4. Dean and Holland responded with an excellent 104-run partnership that completely shifted the momentum. The pair rotated the strike effectively, ran hard between the wickets and punished loose deliveries. Holland reached her half-century from 68 balls, while Dean matched the milestone in just 49 deliveries. Their partnership moved beyond 100 and put Somerset firmly in control. Holland eventually fell for 70 from 90 balls while attempting a slog sweep against Fraser, with the ball finding mid-wicket. Jess Hazell was then dismissed by Filer for 17, leaving Somerset 217 for 6. Dean, however, remained composed and saw Somerset over the line. The England captain finished unbeaten on 76, including six fours, as Somerset reached 251 for 7 with more than five overs remaining. The victory gives Somerset valuable momentum in their pursuit of a place in the Metro Bank One Day Cup knockout stages, while Durham will reflect on a promising start with the bat that ultimately could not withstand Somerset's bowling attack and disciplined chase.

The Blaze booked their place in the knockout stage of the Metro Bank Women's One-Day Cup with a convincing 70-run victory over Warwickshire at Edgbaston. Batting first, The Blaze posted a competitive 282 for 7, with Orla Prendergast and Georgia Elwiss playing key roles in building the innings. Prendergast scored a composed 69 from 73 balls, while Elwiss added 57 from 54 deliveries. Kathryn Bryce also made a valuable contribution with 45. The Blaze made a cautious start after losing former Warwickshire batter Marie Kelly in the opening over. Tammy Beaumont and Bryce then steadied the innings, sharing an 80-run partnership before Phoebe Brett dismissed both batters in the space of 12 deliveries. Elwiss and Prendergast subsequently increased the scoring rate, putting together a 93-run partnership in 18 overs. Both reached their half-centuries before Issy Wong broke the stand, dismissing Elwiss caught behind and Prendergast at deep square leg. Emma Jones provided a late boost with an unbeaten 19 from 12 balls to push The Blaze towards the 300 mark, although they eventually finished on 282 for 7. Warwickshire's chase got off to a difficult start as former Warwickshire seamer Grace Ballinger removed both openers. Davina Perrin was trapped lbw before Meg Austin edged behind to slip. However, captain Katie George and Brooke Halliday revived Warwickshire's hopes with an impressive 125-run partnership from 22 overs. Halliday reached a half-century from 64 balls, while George continued to anchor the chase. The Blaze then produced a decisive turnaround. Halliday was dismissed for 52 when she pulled Prendergast towards deep midwicket, where Kathryn Bryce held an excellent catch. Charis Pavely soon followed, caught by Lucy Higham. Em Arlott briefly threatened to accelerate the chase but was dismissed by Charley Phillips, lifting the ball to mid-off. Higham then took control of the innings, claiming three wickets in nine balls as Warwickshire collapsed. Nat Wraith was caught at cover, Issy Wong was bowled through a cut and Alexa Stonehouse was caught at mid-on. George, who had played an excellent captain's innings of 89, was the final wicket to fall after drilling a return catch to Kathryn Bryce. Warwickshire were bowled out for 212 in 43.3 overs, giving The Blaze a comfortable 70-run victory. The result was The Blaze's 11th win in 13 games, confirming their place in the knockout stage and keeping their impressive campaign firmly on track. Warwickshire, meanwhile, remain in a tightly packed group of teams battling for a top-four finish and qualification.

Kate Cross made an immediate impact at the start of her farewell season, claiming four wickets as Lancashire edged past Hampshire by four wickets in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup. Cross, who recently announced that she will retire from professional cricket at the end of the season, produced her best bowling figures of the campaign. The England great finished with 4 for 33, helping Lancashire restrict Hampshire to 223. Playing her first match since announcing her retirement, Cross struck three times with the new ball. She dismissed Ella McCaughan and Georgia Adams in quick succession before removing Maia Bouchier to leave Hampshire struggling at 29 for 3. Her opening five-over spell yielded an impressive 3 for 15, putting Lancashire firmly in control. Freya Kemp then provided Hampshire with much-needed momentum, smashing 61 from 54 balls with powerful strokeplay on the leg side. Alongside Rhianna Southby, Kemp helped rebuild the innings before both batters departed. Abi Norgrove carried the fight into the closing stages, scoring an unbeaten 70. It was her fourth half-century of the One-Day Cup campaign, and her composed innings helped Hampshire reach a competitive 223. However, Cross returned at the crucial stage to prevent Hampshire from pushing beyond 223, bowling Bex Tyson to complete her four-wicket haul. Lancashire’s chase was steady rather than spectacular, but they remained close to the required rate throughout. Emma Lamb was the key figure, producing a composed 68—her third score above 50 in the competition. Eve Jones contributed a patient 16 from 45 balls before being bowled by Georgia Adams, while Gaby Lewis fell leg-before-wicket to Amanda-Jade Wellington. Lamb kept Lancashire on course before her dismissal, caught after attempting a scoop. Tilly Kesteven and Ellie Threlkeld also made useful starts but failed to convert them into substantial scores. Despite the late pressure, Lancashire held their nerve to reach 224 for 6, securing a four-wicket victory and a third consecutive win. The result keeps the defending champions firmly in contention for a place in the knockout stages, while Cross’ four-wicket performance provided a memorable start to the final chapter of her 21-year association with Lancashire and Emirates Old Trafford.
