Bangladesh Advance to Women’s Asian Games Semi-Finals After China Quarter-Final Washed Out

The opening quarter-final was called off without a ball being bowled, with the toss also failing to take place. Bangladesh progressed to the last four by virtue of their higher seeding in the tournament.

The match was initially delayed as officials waited for the playing conditions to improve. However, the wet outfield prevented the game from getting underway, and the match was eventually abandoned.

Bangladesh will now face the winner of the quarter-final between India and Japan in the semi-finals on September 20.

The women’s competition began directly with the quarter-final stage, with two matches scheduled for Thursday and two more on Friday. Pakistan are set to face Thailand later on Thursday, while Friday’s fixtures include Malaysia against Sri Lanka and India against Japan.

Both semi-finals are scheduled to take place on September 20, with the women’s final set for September 22.

All women’s matches in the tournament are being played at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin, on the outskirts of Nagoya, Japan.

The men’s competition is scheduled to begin on September 24.
