About
Lhuan-dré Pretorius is a dynamic wicketkeeper-batter from South Africa, known for his aggressive strokeplay and fearless intent at the top of the order. Born in Pretoria, he progressed through the Northerns age-group system and rose to prominence as part of South Africa’s squad for the 2024 ICC U19 World Cup.
Pretorius made a significant impact at the tournament, finishing as South Africa’s leading run-scorer and playing a key role in their run to the semi-finals. His ability to take on bowlers early and shift the momentum with clean, attacking shots marked him out as one of the most exciting young prospects in the country.
Following his U19 exploits, Pretorius earned a contract with the Paarl Royals in the SA20 League and enjoyed a breakout season in 2025. He topped the run-scoring charts with 397 runs at an average of 33.08, showcasing his explosive batting and composure under pressure.
His performances caught global attention, and he was signed by the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2025 as an injury replacement for Nitish Rana. While he is yet to make his IPL debut, Pretorius is widely regarded as a future star with the potential to succeed on the international stage.
