About

Tanzim Hasan Sakib is a young and aggressive right-arm fast bowler from Bangladesh who rose to prominence after being part of the country’s Under-19 World Cup–winning squad in 2020. A few years after his success at the youth level, he stepped up to international cricket and made an immediate impact. He made his ODI debut at just 20 years of age against India in the Asia Cup, dismissing Rohit Sharma for a duck with only his second delivery.

Known for his bustling run-up and quick-arm action, Tanzim generates impressive pace and has the ability to swing the ball away from right-handed batters. He emerged at a time when Bangladesh’s fast-bowling resources were particularly strong, yet he still managed to secure a place in the limited-overs sides. His standout performance came in the 2024 T20 World Cup, where he claimed 11 wickets at an outstanding economy rate of 6.20. In 2025, he played a key role in Bangladesh’s T20I series victory at home against Pakistan, delivering several fine spells.

While he has shown promise in white-ball cricket, Tanzim is still developing as a red-ball bowler. His early first-class record has been modest, and as of 2025, he has featured in just one Test match, which came against Zimbabwe.
