A left-handed dasher at the top of the order, Tanzid Hasan is seen as a long-term prospect for Bangladesh in limited-overs cricket. While his international career has started on an inconsistent note, he has shown flashes of talent, though a big score continues to elude him.
Tanzid was part of Bangladesh’s victorious U19 World Cup squad in 2020 and made his senior debut during the 2023 Asia Cup against Sri Lanka, where he was dismissed for a duck. His T20I debut proved more promising, with an unbeaten half-century against Zimbabwe in Chattogram.
However, major tournaments have been challenging for the Bogra-born opener. Both the 2023 ODI World Cup and the 2024 T20 World Cup were forgettable campaigns for him, as he struggled to make a significant impact.
