About
Tahlia McGrath has become one of the cornerstones of Australia’s dominant women’s cricket team, known for her explosive batting, sharp seam bowling, and natural leadership. Born and raised in Adelaide, McGrath broke onto the scene during the 2015–16 WBBL season with the Adelaide Strikers, where her aggressive style and versatility began to shine.
She made her ODI debut in 2016 against South Africa and made an immediate impact. Although she narrowly missed selection for the 2017 Women’s World Cup, McGrath was quickly recalled for the 2017 Ashes, where she earned her Test debut and began cementing her place in the Australian setup.
Since then, McGrath has featured in nearly every major tournament for Australia, including the 2022 Commonwealth Games, the 2022 ODI World Cup, and the 2023 T20 World Cup—all of which saw Australia lift the trophy. In the 2025 Women’s Ashes, she played a crucial role once again, even stepping in as T20I captain in the absence of Alyssa Healy due to injury.
Beyond international cricket, McGrath has proven her value in franchise leagues around the world. In addition to being a mainstay for the Adelaide Strikers, she has played for Lancashire Thunder in England, the Southern Brave in The Hundred, and the UP Warriorz in the Women’s Premier League (WPL).
With her ability to influence matches in all three facets—batting, bowling, and leadership—Tahlia McGrath continues to be a vital force in Australia’s ongoing cricketing dominance.
