About
Hailing from South Punjab, Pakistan, Salman Ali Agha has been a consistent performer in domestic cricket since making his first-class debut in 2013. A reliable middle-order batter with a knack for scoring big runs, Salman steadily built his case for national selection through years of perseverance and solid performances.
His breakthrough came in 2022 when he earned his Test debut, followed by his ODI debut in the same year. Salman’s ability to contribute across formats was soon recognized, and he was included in Pakistan’s squad for the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup, where he featured in three matches and registered a half-century.
In addition to his batting credentials, Salman also offers value as a part-time off-spinner. His leadership qualities came to the fore in late 2024 when he was handed the T20I captaincy for Pakistan’s tour of Zimbabwe — a testament to the team management’s faith in his temperament and cricketing acumen.
