About

Full Name: Kieron Adrian Pollard
Born: May 12, 1987 (Trinidad)
Batting Style: Right-hand bat
Bowling Style: Right-arm medium
Role: All-rounder
Teams: West Indies, Mumbai Indians, various T20 franchises worldwide

Kieron Pollard is a powerful lower middle-order batsman and a handy medium pacer, widely regarded as one of the most impactful T20 all-rounders of his generation. He made his ODI debut during the 2007 World Cup but truly announced himself on the global stage with a blistering 18-ball 54 in the 2009 Champions League T20, which earned him recognition and contracts in T20 leagues around the world.

Pollard has represented numerous franchises, most notably the Mumbai Indians, who acquired him in 2010 and retained him as a core player through multiple title-winning seasons. He was Man of the Final in the 2013 IPL, where he delivered with both bat and ball to help Mumbai lift the trophy. Known for his towering sixes and death-over finishing, Pollard also bowls clever slower deliveries and cutters. A world-class fielder, he’s renowned for stunning catches and athleticism in the deep.

While he has produced moments of brilliance in ODIs — including centuries against India and Australia — inconsistency and fitness issues limited his international impact. He was never considered for Test cricket and has often been in and out of the West Indies setup, including a controversial exclusion from the 2015 World Cup squad.

Pollard turned down a central contract to pursue a global T20 career, becoming a T20 freelancer and playing for teams like Somerset, Dhaka Gladiators, Barbados Tridents, and more across leagues including the IPL, CPL, BBL, and PSL.

Despite his intermittent international appearances, Pollard's leadership, experience, and game-changing ability have made him a mainstay in the global T20 circuit, earning him a reputation as one of the most destructive finishers and respected senior figures in modern T20 cricket.
