About

Josh Inglis, an English-born Australian wicketkeeper-batsman, has emerged as one of Australia’s most exciting limited-overs cricketers. Known for his sharp glovework and innovative batting, Inglis first gained attention after being selected for the Australian National Performance Squad.

Originally from Yorkshire, he represented the county at age-group level before moving to Perth with his family. He quickly adapted to Australian conditions and broke into Western Australia’s setup, becoming a regular after Sam Whiteman’s injury. His seamless wicketkeeping and consistent performances kept him in contention during a competitive phase for Australia’s wicketkeeper role following Brad Haddin’s retirement.

Although overlooked initially in favor of Alex Carey and Matthew Wade, Inglis earned a call-up for the 2021 T20 World Cup and made his international debut in 2022. His breakthrough came during the 2023 World Cup, where he established himself as Australia’s first-choice limited-overs wicketkeeper.

He later scored two T20I centuries, including the fastest by an Australian, captained Australia in late 2024, and was picked by Punjab Kings at the 2025 IPL auction.
