About
Shadley van Schalkwyk is a South African right-arm medium pacer who began his cricketing journey at Wynberg Boys' High School, an institution that has produced notable cricketers such as Jacques Kallis and Allan Lamb. During a school tour to Pakistan, van Schalkwyk delivered impressive performances that led to his inclusion in the South African Academy in 2006.
He made his first-class debut against the Dolphins over a decade ago and has since accumulated nearly 200 wickets, alongside several fifty-plus scores with the bat. Van Schalkwyk made his List A debut in February 2008 for Free State against KwaZulu-Natal Inland during the SAA Provincial One-Day Challenge, contributing an unbeaten 17* and taking 2 wickets, including that of an opening batsman.
At 30 years old, he remains an experienced campaigner with several years of cricket potentially still ahead of him.
