About
A product of the famed Mumbai school of batsmanship, Jemimah Rodrigues is widely regarded as one of the finest next-generation talents in Indian women’s cricket. Known for her elegant strokeplay and natural timing, she stands out for the time she has to play her shots and her effortless power-hitting—attributes that have made her a mainstay in India's T20I setup.
Rodrigues made her international debut in 2018 across both ODIs and T20Is. Since then, she has grown into one of India's most dependable batters in the shortest format, second only to Smriti Mandhana in consistency. While her 50-over game remains a work in progress, few doubt her ability to master that format as well. Beyond her batting, Jemimah is also a dynamic presence in the field, capable of excelling in any position.
Born into a sports-oriented family, Jemimah was introduced to cricket early—her father served as a junior coach at her school, and she often played in the courtyard with her twin brothers. A multi-talented athlete, she also represented Maharashtra in U-17 hockey. She credits her background in hockey for strengthening her bottom-hand technique, which aids her in generating power during big hits.
Rodrigues' rise through the ranks was swift—she made it to the Maharashtra U-19 team at just 13 years old. Since then, she has continued to grow with every passing season, and with age and experience, she’s expected to evolve into one of the most polished and impactful cricketers of her generation.
