About
His grandfather was an Olympic gold medal winning hockey player, his father was the coach who unearthed the great Yuvraj Singh. So surrounded by greatness, it was only a matter of time before Raj Bawa made his mark in the world of sports.
Raj Bawa took to cricket naturally with his father being a renowned coach who has his own academy. He idolized Yuvraj Singh as a youngster, so much so that he became a left-handed batter looking at Yuvraj bat despite being a natural right hander. Bawa performed admirably at age group level tournaments, performing well with both bat and ball and was fast-tracked to make the flight to West Indies for the 2021 U19 World Cup.
Raj Bawa played all games in that World Cup, scoring a few cameos with bat but was definitely more effective with the ball in hand. He picked up nine wickets in the tournament, which included a fifer in the final for which Raj Bawa was named Man of the Match.
