Surrey Storm to Bonus-Point Victory as Warwickshire Bowled Out for 55

Surrey produced a dominant performance at the Kia Oval, crushing Warwickshire by 10 wickets after bowling the visitors out for just 55 in their crucial Metro Bank One Day Cup clash.

Kate Coppack delivered a career-best spell of 5 for 22 as Surrey dismantled Warwickshire's batting order on a grassy surface that offered plenty of assistance to the bowlers.

The victory, achieved in just 62 balls without losing a wicket, earned Surrey a valuable bonus point and strengthened their hopes of securing a place in the final eliminator.

Warwickshire's innings got off to a disastrous start when Meg Austin was caught behind for a duck in Coppack's opening over. Sune Luus then struck soon after, trapping Amu Surenkumar lbw as she attempted to sweep.

Coppack continued her devastating spell by removing Brooke Halliday and Abi Freeborn in the same over. Halliday edged a delivery that appeared to hold in the pitch back towards the bowler, while Freeborn thick-edged to Rachel King at gully.

Katie George briefly offered resistance with a wristy boundary, but Coppack soon produced another superb delivery to beat her bat and pad and send the stumps flying.

Coppack completed her five-wicket haul when Nat Wraith was given out caught behind, with the ball appearing to make contact with her helmet.

Alice Monaghan added further misery for Warwickshire, claiming 3 for 10. She bowled Em Arlott to become the fourth Warwickshire batter to be dismissed for a duck before removing Mary Taylor, who was caught off the glove.

With Charis Pavely also failing to score, Warwickshire were reduced to a procession of wickets and needed their final pair to push the total beyond 50.

In reply, Surrey made light work of the modest target. Rachel King led the chase with an unbeaten 41 from 35 balls, finishing the match in style with her second six.

Monaghan, who had earlier starred with the ball, remained unbeaten on 16 as Surrey reached 59 without loss.

The emphatic result keeps Surrey firmly in contention for the final eliminator spot, with the bonus point potentially proving decisive when the qualification race reaches its conclusion.
