Holder, Netravalkar Three-Fors Set Up Comfortable Patriots Win Over Kings

Jason Holder and Saurabh Netravalkar claimed three wickets each to restrict St Lucia Kings to 155 for 8 before Andre Fletcher guided St Kitts and Nevis Patriots to a comfortable five-wicket victory in their CPL 2026 clash.

Chasing 156, Patriots reached 156 for 5 in 17.4 overs, with Fletcher remaining unbeaten on a patient 48 off 41 balls. His innings included three fours and a six and earned him the Player-of-the-Match award.

Kings, batting first after captain Roston Chase won the toss, made a promising start despite losing Andries Gous and Ackeem Auguste during the powerplay. Netravalkar accounted for both wickets, but Kamil Pooran and Jewel Andrew steadied the innings with an 82-run partnership for the third wicket.

Pooran struck a fluent 54 from 30 balls before being run out by a direct hit from Wanindu Hasaranga. Andrew continued his impressive innings, scoring 58 off 42 deliveries, while Charith Asalanka provided support as the pair added 39 runs.

However, Kings lost momentum in the latter stages. Holder struck twice in the 16th over, dismissing Asalanka and Andrew, while the Kings managed only 22 runs during the final five overs. Holder finished with 3 for 20 and Netravalkar with 3 for 32.

Patriots made a brisk start to their chase, reaching 59 for 2 in the powerplay. Johnson Charles smashed 16 from just five balls, including a four and two sixes, before falling early. Kyle Mayers then provided the acceleration with a 16-ball 32 during a 34-run partnership with Fletcher.

With only 156 required, Patriots never faced significant pressure. Fletcher anchored the innings while Kevin Wickham scored 19 from 20 balls, Holder added 10 from nine, and Dasun Shanaka contributed 12 from nine.

Hasaranga finished the chase in style, hooking Matthew Forde for a six as Patriots completed victory with 14 balls to spare.

The result gave Patriots their first win of the CPL 2026 season after losing their opening match. Kings, meanwhile, now have one win and one defeat from their first two games.

Kings captain Roston Chase admitted afterward that his side had left around 30 to 35 runs unused, a margin that ultimately proved decisive as Patriots chased down the target with ease.
